Summer Slam

(4 customer reviews)

Summer Slam is a Temperature Driven Solution designed specifically for warm water applications.  This dry probiotic formula is enhanced with mesophilic microorganisms and select stimulants to ensure optimal performance when water temperatures are between 75°F-120°F (23.9°C-48.9°C).  Summer Slam will quickly cycle out excess nitrogen and temporarily bind phosphorus in warm water environments.  Made for aquatic professionals, it promotes a balanced aquatic ecosystem and rapid recovery from both adverse environmental impacts and chemical treatments.

Summer Slam excels when used alone and can be applied as a dry powder or dissolved and sprayed over the surface of the water.  For an extra boost, use Summer Slam in combination with PondZilla Pro or AquaSticker.

Water bodies have stress from both external and internal sources. Excessive rains or draught combined with ongoing use of algaecides and herbicides deplete the microbial communities that are fundamental to nutrient removal in water bodies.  This imbalance in the ecosystem leads to elevated nutrient issues and can result in excessive aquatic plant growth, continuing algal blooms, and HABs.

Summer Slam was formulated through years of research by obtaining samples from lakes and ponds across the United States when water temperatures were warmer.  The natural microbial communities in the samples were analyzed to understand population densities and the specific organisms that are depleted by stresses.  This research is how Natural Lake Biosciences was able to create a probiotic that supplements natural populations and supports indigenous organisms that are functional and native to that geography.  Summer Slam is more than simple additions of beneficial bacteria.  It is a scientifically formulated probiotic that works in harmony with the microbial communities that play key roles in nitrogen and phosphorus uptake.  Real science.  Real Results.

LOCATION: Florida
SIZE: 1.3 acres
TARGET: Cyanobacteria, algae, bladder wort, and slender spikerush, and organic matter accumulation

<br/ >

SUMMARY: A community with 80 lakes has had a long history of mat-forming cyanobacteria problems and has extremely hard water making copper-based algaecide treatments less effective.

SOLUTION: Applied 8lbs of Summer Slam initially and moved to 4lbs every other week. Due to algae blooms, 4lbs of Summer Slam was added every week in warmer temps and every other week in the cooler months to improve water quality and prevent or limit growths.

RESULTS: Since the initial application, algae blooms or submerged vegetation issues have been limited. These lakes have gone over 12 months without any herbicide or algaecide treatments. Muck levels have decreased drastically and continued Summer Slam applications have improved water quality. <br/ >

LOCATION: Florida
SIZE: ~.5 acres
TARGET: Water quality, nutrients

<br/ >

SUMMARY: A residential community pond was experiencing frequent algal blooms and reduced water quality.

SOLUTION: Apply Temperature Driven Solutions according to water temperature to reduce the elevated nutrient levels.

RESULTS: Water quality was improved and nutrient levels were reduced in the pond. <br/ >

Full Lake Doctors 2018 Case Study

LOCATION: Florida
SIZE: .11 acres
TARGET: Algae, Nutrients, Water Quality

<br/ >

SUMMARY: A stormwater pond in a development had continuous algal blooms that were not responding to traditional algaecide treatments.

SOLUTION: Incorporate Temperature Driven Solutions into a traditional chemical program to reduce the nutrients and sludge in the pond.

RESULTS: Reduced frequency and occurrence of algal blooms and improved water quality. <br/ >

Full Lake Doctors 2018 Case Study

LOCATION: Florida
SIZE: 23.8 acres
TARGET: Filamentous algae, muck

<br/ >

SUMMARY: Microsystis, Anabenea and other forms of Filamentous Algae were an ongoing issue in these two combined man-made lakes. They also saw muck builup between 12-18 inches.

SOLUTION: Added MD Pellets, PondZilla Pro, and VitaStim Summer Slam every two-weeks.

RESULTS: After six weeks of treatment, algae levels had diminished and water clarity had returned. By the end of the 6 month study, the lakes had vastly improved. <br/ >

    Being in the Aquatics field for almost 30 years I would highly recommend these products, if you’re wanting to target your herbicide to a specific area I highly recommend the Aqua Sticker.

  2. Dion C. (FL)

    I like using the Summer Slam and Bio-zymes in the ponds and lakes, it really helps control algae and muck once you have established enough enzymes in the water.

  3. Anthony O. (FL)

    I have been using Summer Slam for a few years now and it still amazes me how well this product works. Less algae ( in most cases none ) so there is less need for harsh chemicals and the water looks great! Fantastic results!

  4. Nathan P. (FL)

    The summer slam is perfect for adding beneficial bacteria to the pond/lake. Helps with PA as well. Muck bio is great for cleaning up the muck bottoms of ponds. So nice to see sandy bottoms again.
